At The Cake Girl, we believe that a little sweetness can go a long way. Our founder, Kristina Lavallee, is not only known for her custom cakes and delicious mini cupcakes but also for her heartwarming community initiative called “Random Acts of Sweetness.”

What is Random Acts of Sweetness?

Random Acts of Sweetness is a simple yet impactful initiative where Kristina and our team surprise local businesses and individuals in the Tampa area with free cupcakes. These surprise deliveries aim to spread joy and show appreciation to those making a positive impact in our community.

Recently, Kristina was featured on Spectrum News - Bay News 9 in a story highlighting her sweet deliveries to two deserving local businesses. She was also recognized as an Everyday Hero in the same segment, celebrating her ongoing community contributions. Her first stop was Build-A-Shirt T-Shirt Emporium on West Sligh Avenue, where owner Antoinette Stokes received a surprise batch of mini cupcakes. Touched by the gesture, Antoinette created a custom T-shirt featuring Kristina as a thank-you gift—a perfect example of how kindness sparks more kindness!

Next, Kristina visited Greedy Lee’s BBQ on East Osborne Avenue. Nominated by one of our social media followers, owner Kenneth Davis had been providing free meals to his neighbors during last year’s hurricanes. In return for the cupcakes, Kenneth gifted Kristina a freshly grilled tomahawk steak—a delicious token of appreciation!

Beyond Sweet Treats

While cupcakes are our specialty, The Cake Girl’s community work goes far beyond baked goods. Kristina has organized holiday gift drives for children in need and provided household essentials to homeless veterans. Her dedication to giving back earned her the Honorary Commander Award from MacDill Air Force Base, recognizing her ongoing support of military families.

Why Giving Back Matters

“I just love giving back,” Kristina says. “Seeing someone smile is the best reward. There are so many good people doing amazing things in the world, and I want to be one of them.”
